The Texas Rangers are trying to keep it right this season, with 25 wins and 22 losses in their bag. During this crucial time, the team is put in a tough spot as their rising star outfielder Evan Carter suffers from a right quad strain. Is there a savior out there who can save the Rangers from this crucial period? It seems like the team has already found one. Here are all the details.
Evan Carter put on a 10-day injured list
The news came on May 18 that outfielder Evan Carter is placed on the injured list for at least 10 days, on accounts of right quad strain. But, is it a normal strain that will heal within 10 days?
As per the Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy, Carter has a Grade 2 strain, which is quite serious, and has reportedly gotten worse than before. As per Bochy, Carter will be out on the field within two weeks. But it is well known that when it comes to baseball players, injuries should not be taken lightly. Carter has been put on the injury list from May 17, 2025.
Besides, this is not the first time Carter has suffered from a career-stressing injury. He had to miss the majority of 2021 Minor League games due to an arm injury and missed almost 45 games in 2024 due to back issues. Besides, 2025 was the season when Carter was slowly starting to settle in, when the sudden quad strain put him in the backseat.
Now that Carter is out of the game, the Rangers need to revamp their roster and insert an experienced outfielder to fill in the gap. Luckily, one such outfielder is just out of the injury list.
Kevin Pillar to take the mantle
With Carter out of the question, Kevin Pillar returns to the scene. The said outfielder was previously on a 10-day injured list due to lower back inflammation. However, now Pillar is back on the ground and is ready to take the field from the next match.
Though Kevin had to miss several games this season, his return gives the Rangers hope that they will be able to sustain it. The upcoming matches will decide the fate of the Rangers.
