After the much-acclaimed Cannes market section screening and the huge appreciation at the International Film Festival of South Asia, Toronto last year, Paoli Dam’s critically acclaimed film ‘Chhaad’, directed by Indrani Chakraborty, will now be shown at the London Bengali Film Festival on April 29.
“Excited to let you all know that our film CHHAAD, directed by the lovely Indrani , will be screened at the prestigious Queen Mary University on 29th April at 3:30pm as part of the London Bengali Film Festival,” tweeted Paoli sharing the good news.
In the film, Chhaad (Terrace) represents the personal space and freedom of a person. Paoli plays the female protagonist and the story is about how she finds a sense of freedom on the terrace. There comes a point in her life when her access to the terrace gets prohibited and then she realises what it means to her. The plot sheds light on the identity crisis of a female writer-cum-school teacher (Paoli) when she is denied access to the terrace - her open space. Apart from Rahul and Paoli, ‘Chhaad’ also has Rajnandidni Paul in a key role.
The film will have its screening at the prestigious Queen Mary University on April 29.
Meanwhile, Paoli has just wrapped up the shoot of Pritha Chakraborty’s next film ‘Paharganj Halt’ which sees the actor reuniting with
Ritwick Chakraborty after ‘Shantilal O Projapoti Rahashya’.
