Director Maruthi on Prabhas starrer 'The Raja Saab': "It's the kind of film fans expect from me'

Rebel star Prabhas is set to be seen in the upcoming 'The Raja Saab', a romantic horror comedy directed by Maruthi. The film marks Malavika Mohanan's Telugu debut alongside Nidhhi Agerwal, with Sanjay Dutt playing a crucial role. Recently, the director shared some details about the film after was he asked to share any information regarding the Prabhas starrer while he attended an event for another film.
As per a 123Telugu report, at a recent pre-release event of the film 'Mad Square', Maruthi expressed his joy working with Prabhas, stating that 'The Raja Saab' is the kind of film audiences expect from him. He feels fortunate to have Prabhas on board, who is ensuring that the film includes all the elements fans have come to associate with Maruthi's direction.
His quote reads, "The Raja Saab is the kind of film that people expect from me. Prabhas Garu is making me do the movie with all the elements people expect from me. I am so happy for it. If there is no pressure, the output will be the best."

'The Raja Saab' revolves around a young man who sets his eyes on his ancestral property to ease a cash crunch. The film is set against the backdrop of an old cinema theater, adding a unique twist to its horror-comedy narrative. Prabhas is expected to be playing dual roles, as the owner of a theater and a ghost taking the role of both a grandson and a grandfather.
The film has faced several challenges, including leaks of videos and images from the set. A recent video of Prabhas dancing on set was leaked, and an action scene featuring Malavika Mohanan also surfaced online. The film is currently in the production phase. Initially scheduled for an April 10, 2025, release, the film's release date is now uncertain due to pending post-production work.
