ERODE: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will win more than 200 seats in the 2026 assembly election in Tamil Nadu, senior AIADMK leader K A Sengottaiyan said on Thursday.
Speaking at a public meeting held at Hasanur in Erode district to mark May Day, Sengottaiyan took a dig at DMK for claiming that the ruling front would win 200 seats in the assembly elections.
“At present, we are allied with the Bharatiya Janata Party, and we are poised to win more than 200 seats thanks to the blessings of Puratchi Thalaivar (party founder M G Ramachandran) and Puratchi Thalaivi (J Jayalalithaa),’’ he said.
Sengottaiyan said he was prepared to serve as a grassroots member. “We need this party for the future, and those involved in this movement must hold power; only then can we alleviate the suffering of the poor,” he said.
He assured that the interests of weavers, workers and farmers would be safeguarded when the AIADMK comes to power.
